- Description:
- Pixel Art Edge Highlights is a post process effect that draws thin edges based on the depth and normal screen textures. It is intended to be used with the UPixelator asset, which pixelates whole 3D scenes in real-time, handles camera movement smoothing, and pixel creep reduction. However, it can also be used as a standalone effect to add detail on the edges that would otherwise be indistinguishable, such as flat colors where normals are equal.
The effect has three edge types:
* Convex Highlights: lightens outward edges
* Outline Shadow: darkens objects' outline
* Concave Shadow: darkens inward edges
It supports both Built-in and URP pipelines and has been tested on various Unity versions, including Unity 6, 2021.3, and 2022.3.
The effect excludes materials with render queue 3000+ (transparent) and in URP, opaque objects can be excluded with the Render Objects feature.
