This tool is designed for both beginners and experts, making localization as effortless and straightforward as possible. - Technical Details:
- SwiftKeyLocalization Genie requires a settings asset and at least one library asset. The settings file contains a list of available locales and the active locale name, as well as a reference to a default library asset. The library asset contains dictionaries for particular locales, with only one dictionary active at a time.
The tool offers two methods for localization: Quick Method and Expert Method. The Quick Method requires TextMeshPro components and can be performed without writing a single line of code. The Expert Method allows for direct string replacement in the code, without the need for TextMeshPro components.
During Runtime, the tool intercepts and translates text fields using a preassigned library to the current locale. Scraping is the process of collecting keys automatically during gameplay, which can be enabled through the Localization Settings window or Wizard. Scraped keys are not directly added to the translation table, but rather selected by the developer to be converted to keys.
Once keys are defined, the empty translation table can be exported to an xlsx file per library and shared with translators. The table can be imported back to the library, which will start working as soon as it is imported, even if it is at Runtime. - Continue »
