- Description:
- Stylized Water 3 is a water rendering solution that focuses on artistic freedom rather than realistic simulation. It spans a wide range of applications, from basic to advanced, and is designed to be easy to use and self-documented. The package includes a range of features such as wave animations, decals, and foam shading, as well as a custom lighting model and support for Unity's native lighting features. It also includes a range of pre-configured water materials, foam and normal map textures, and particle effects. The package is compatible with Universal Render Pipeline (URP) 17.0.3+ and supports a range of platforms, including PC, macOS, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Android/iOS, WebGL 2.0, and WebGPU. It also includes automatic fog integration with several popular fog renderers and supports spot/point lights and baked/dynamic GI. The package is hand-written and expertly crafted for maximum performance and flexibility, with features that can be disabled to make it scalable for mobile platforms.
- Technical Details:
- Stylized Water 3 is a transparent material, so it inherits the quirks and limitations of transparency sorting. The shader requires the depth texture option to be enabled in URP in most cases. Water is transparent, so any depth-based post-processing effects will not affect it. Integration for several fog renderers is included. Network-syncronized waves are possible through a simple API call. Intersection foam is based on the vertical distance between the water and the object/pixel below. Tessellation requires DirectX11+, Metal, or Vulkan rendering and automatically falls back if not supported.
