Description:
Mesh2Sprite is a fast and easy-to-use utility for converting animated meshes into sprites. It allows you to recreate the authentic retro look of pre-rendered 3D models from the 1990s. The package is designed to work seamlessly with the Unity workflow, and it doesn't require any 3D modeling experience or software.

You can set up your mesh and lighting using the Unity workflow, and Mesh2Sprite will show you a preview of how each frame of your animations will look from each camera angle. You can specify the animation framerate, resolution, number of camera angles, and camera distance/height, and the package will take care of the rest.

When you export, Mesh2Sprite automatically names your sprites, organizes them into folders, sets the pivot points, pixels-per-unit, and filtering mode settings, and packs your sprites into atlases. You can also adjust most settings with a simple interface.

Mesh2Sprite also comes with a simple runtime component for rendering your directional sprite animations in-game. You can load an animation set into the Mesh2SpriteAnimator and tell it which animation to play, and the component will automatically change the sprite's apparent direction based on the relative position of the camera.

This package is not only useful for retro games. You can turn on anti-aliasing and increase the resolution to render high-quality sprites for background characters, UI images, low LODs, or anything else you might think of.

Mesh2Sprite is a powerful tool that can save you a lot of time and effort in your game development process. It's easy to use, fast, and fully extensible, making it a great addition to your Unity workflow.
