- Description:
- These HDR images were captured using a method described in a presentation at Siggraph 2016. They are accurate, unclamped cubemaps of interior and exterior environments, including scenes with the Sun. Alternate versions with the Sun removed are also provided. The HDRIs are designed to be used with Unity's Look Dev tools, which support both Sun and No Sun HDRI images. They can also be used in any 3D software.
The asset is under the CC0 1.0 Universal (CC0 1.0) Public Domain Dedication, making it freely usable for any purpose.
Each HDR image has been converted to a cubemap with a default size of 1024. An info.txt file is included in each folder, providing details about the capture and a multiplier to convert the cubemap from relative to absolute. To achieve accurate results, Unity must be set to use the Linear pipeline. - Technical Details:

This multiplier can be applied to the white-balanced cubemap to convert it to an absolute cubemap, containing the real-world luminance emitted by the environment. Unity must be set to use the Linear pipeline for best results, as using Gamma will produce inaccurate results.
